Kiểm tra cuối kì 1 Tiếng Anh Lớp 12 (Hệ 7 năm) - Mã đề 501 - Năm học 2022-2023 - Sở GD&ĐT Quảng Nam (Có đáp án)

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct
answer to each of the questions from 12 to 16.
While family relationships can bring support, joy, and other wonderful benefits into our lives, these
relationships can also bring stress, particularly when there’s unresolved conflict. Because it’s more difficult
to let go of conflicted relationships with family than it would be if these relationships were mere friendships,
unresolved conflicts with family members can be particularly painful.
There is nothing new about conflicts between parents and teenagers. Conflicts can arise from
different sources, some as simple as parents' disapproval of their teenage child's fashion choices. The most
common arguments are about untidiness and household chores. Parents can become enraged at untidy
rooms, mountains of clothes on the floor, dirty clothes stuffed in the wardrobe and above all, their children's
refusal to share the housework. Teenagers, on the other hand, become impatient when their parents keep
nagging them for not cleaning up their room or refusing to do the shopping at the supermarket. The key to
resolving this kind of conflict is communication. Parents can tell their children off when they leave the
rooms untidy but they should also be aware that children's rooms are their private space. They should have

a heart-to-heart with their teens and they should also listen to what their children want to say. Only by
listening and understanding can these conflicts be resolved.
Question 12: What is the passage mainly about?

Question 15: What is the way to resolve the parent- teenager conflicts?

Question 16: What is NOT MENTIONED as a source of argument between parents and teenagers?
A. Teenagers' fashion choices
